Why Video
By George Temple Video in Church - Who needs it?
Technology - so much to learn! Who cares? Who needs video? Who has time for it? Will it help? Is it Godly? Will it get in the way of the message?
What would Jesus do?
If you are asking these questions, you are on the right path. Let me take you down the road of what you should know about incorporating video into your service.
I must confess I am a product of the television generation. TV was my babysitter and my friend; much nicer than my big brother.

Welcome to Christian Video Magazine!
By Steve Hewitt Video is sweeping our nation. Google has a special search engine to help you find videos, as does about every other search service. Most news services such as MSNBC, CNN and even the New York Times have incorporated the use of videos and have collected libraries that are searchable on their site. And, videos have been openly adopted by the church and Christian ministries. Praise God!

Streaming For Jesus – The Final Piece to Your Puzzle
By Steve Hewitt There are many uses for video besides playing videos in your worship service. One dynamic use is to stream video from your website. Many churches are moving beyond podcasting and are discovering the impact of streaming sermons and other church related videos. While attending the MinistryTech.com conference a couple of months ago, I met Austin Moore, who was also attending. Austin is the President/Owner of Streaming for Jesus, and I became aware of the fantastic services they provide. You really HAVE to visit their site and check out their ability to create custom media players for your church or ministry, including a variety of skins. It is also obvious from visiting the site that Austin’s company is a ministry. His passion for Christ, evangelism and his desire to help the church accomplish its ministry are obvious. I interviewed Austin about Streaming For Jesus, and hope that this interview will encourage you to check out and use the services they offer!

Gotta See to Believe
By Perry Johnson The title of this article says it all. It is not only a common phrase, but also a rationale that society has adapted to when dealing with issues that require a faith or belief that we as Christians hold true and alive. When discussing beliefs and faith in a living God with a non-believer, many times the response comes back that they cannot see the blessings, or see the miracles of old and so therefore they do not believe. So then, why as a church do we not embrace this idea and use it to illustrate life-changing events that are happening around us? I will be writing a continued series that is based off this particular idea and theme, and how the church can utilize the ideas and technology with video that is driving mainstream society and how they view life. So let’s dive right in and get started at making a difference!

The Rules to Media are Changing Quickly
By Daniel Temple During the last couple of months CNN broadcast the presidential debates with YouTube. Most magazines and pundits elaborated on how the candidates dealt with the issues, the clothes they wore, and feuds they were having. I really didn’t notice any one addressing the fact that quietly, behind the scenes, a revolution was in full swing. It had nothing to do with foreign policy or tax cuts but rather the fact that a worldwide news authority, CNN, would use the newcomer YouTube as its ally in the proceedings. To have YouTube (which didn’t exist before 2005) share top-billing in something as historic as a presidential debate shows that change is coming. The rules to media are changing quickly and there is a line being drawn between the old and the new.

Nothing Beats a Personal Story, and Video Can Deliver
By Terry Wilhite For more than 19 years I headed a communications department for an electric utility company. Among my other public relations and communications duties, it became my lot to convince bill payers to use energy wisely in a monthly magazine. Often, I had to talk about kilowatt hours, cycle billing, energy use, and prompt bill paying. It took me way too long to realize that the readers did not care nearly as much about any of those topics as I did. Quite frankly, these topics became boring to me, having to say the same things the same old ways, so I tried something new – new to me at least.

Wireless Video
By Danny Nix When I first received the call from First United Methodist Church in Bristow, Oklahoma, I didn’t know what I was getting into until I went on a site visit to the church. The traditional Methodist church wanted a video system for their auditorium. The scope included a projector for the audience and then a confidence projector for the choir. They also needed an audio and video feed to the overflow room when they had large meetings or funerals.

The Streaming Guy
What is the best format to stream video sermons? Flash!
By Austin Moore We have recently seen an explosion of video usage on the Internet mostly because of broadband. Comscore did a study to find that five out of every seven U.S. Internet users (71.4 percent) streamed video online. They also state that the average online video viewer consumed 55 video streams, or nearly two per day. Comscore continued to say that online viewers watched an average of 145 minutes of online video a month. Additionally, the September 2007 Pew Internet & American Life Project reports that for the first time that as many as 50% of respondents say they have high-speed Internet connections at home.

In that time,WingClips has posted over a hundred new clips from outstanding major motion pictures. What is it about this one clip that resonates with pastors all over the world? Its because it deals with one of the foundational truths in our walk with Jesus. How honest are we? As a Christian, are we honest 99% of the time or do we take Jesus seriously and adopt his code of faithfulness for our life? Are we honest with our family, with our friends, and with oursleves? Or do we hide the truth, hoping we can survive and not be embarrassed by the situations we have created?
