Video Recording Your Services
By Steve Hewitt Last Sunday I was moved. Many Sundays I am moved, normally by the Holy Spirit encouraging me to either do something, or change something. Last Sunday I was moved because the message would have really touched another member of our family who lives across the country, struggling with some specific problems. Last Sunday’s message would have had an impact on this loved one that I am praying for, if only they could have been there, hearing the message as it was delivered.

WALL-E pure love, robot-style
By Martin Baggs February, with Valentine’s Day, is the month of love and romance. And love is the heart of the gospel (Jn. 3:16), as love is the essence of God (1 Jn. 4:16). To celebrate love, this month’s film is a futuristic love story that is simple yet profound. A Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee, WALL-E is one of my favorite films of 2008 and sure to become a classic. Indeed, it was recently listed as the most redeeming movie of 2008 by Christianity Today.

Just Have Fun With It
By Gregory Fish Many of us in Christian Video ministry in churches across the country don't have formal training in all of the areas that we work in. Much of our learning comes "on the job" and through reading of publications (such as CVmag). I'm reminded of my kids when they start a new sport – soccer for instance. I know that they are not going to be like the great Pelé. They are just starting out. It's ridiculous to make such an assumption! So what do we tell them? "Just go on out there and HAVE FUN WITH IT." And they do...most of the time.

When Bad Things Happen to Good Technology (and People)
By Jay Delp We’ve all been there and will no doubt find ourselves “there” again. For all of us working with technology in ministry it’s not a question of “if” but “when” we will find ourselves in one of those “hot spots” attempting to resolve a “technical difficulty” in front of a “live” audience. Not fun. You can almost literally feel the eyes of the increasingly restless “multitude” heavy on your back. In only seconds your body is transformed from its normally casual, cucumber cool-like state into a high-speed, perspiration-producing tech support machine.

Production Team - Living Up to Our Potential
By Mike Hewitt Our society has changed and communicating the Word of God has changed with it. If you think about it, the Production Ministry was non-existent over 100 years ago. But life has changed. The world has changed. With the invention of TV, internet, and the radio the way information is presented has changed. Church used to be the only show in town, an event to look forward to on the calendar, but even that has changed. Now we are competing with everything from amusement parks to the mall. We are losing a battle which we should be winning.

Reflections on The Dark Knight
By Mark Carroll I’ve always been enamored with superheroes. So when my children were younger, I naturally introduced them to all my favorite superheroes as well. But after they got hooked and began to faithfully follow their favorite characters with determination, I began to have second thoughts. Especially when dinner table conversations centered on Spider-Man, Cyclops, Batman, Wolverine and The Martian Manhunter more than Noah, Moses, David, Samson, and Paul’s shipwreck, my Spider-sense began to tingle – warning me of possible danger!
