Christian Archives
By Steve Hewitt I was really excited to discover a great new service for the Christian and ministry community, Christian Archives. Since I still lead a Bible study twice a week and preach on occasion, I am always looking for great materials while researching a topic. In addition, I like good sources of Christian materials that can help feed my soul. Of course, there are times when I want more than just an article to read, but want the luxury of listening to a message play in the background, or even the opportunity to view a video.

Constant Contact
By Steve Hewitt Many of our readers here at Christian Video Magazine (CVMag) also read Christian Computing Magazine (www.ccmag.com) and noticed that we sent CVMag out using a different broadcast email service than we had been using for Christian Computing these many years. The fact is; we thought we would test this other service to see how it compared. Which service was best? Well, as you will note with this month’s issue of CVMag, it is now being sent out via Constant Contact.

There Will be Blood - Darkness of the Human Heart
By Martin Baggs A year on and I still can't decide if I really liked the slow-moving There Will be Blood. Rather than having the typical hero arc, it had a self-destructive anti-hero. Nevertheless, it was a powerful movie with an Oscar-winning performance by Daniel Day Lewis as Daniel Plainview, a cold and heartless oilman.

Hide It Under a Bushel? No… I’m Going to Advertise.
By Stewart Redwine You are one of the select few who have been through the sometimes painful but always rewarding process of taking your idea and turning it into a finished video. Now what? If you’re expecting a rush of people who will throw a ton of money at you for your video it’s time for a reality check and a bit of advice from someone who has been there.

Making the Documentary
By Gregory Fish I want to welcome my good friend Sid McGregor to the “toolkit” this month. Sid, we've had similar interests since way back in high school. We had a great time playing music together through the years. Now on top of that we're both into video. I'm kind of self-taught, learning by experience/trial and error. You have had formal training. How has the education process been?

An Interview with Randy Rohde of Urban Truth
By Steve Hewitt How did you get started producing videos? I knew that I wanted to make films from the time I was in the sixth grade. We are all wired for a purpose and I was blessed to discover mine long ago. My parents had an 8mm movie camera and I was cutting short films back then. I was introduced to video production by taking classes in high school. I did any and all jobs having to do with video production after high school.

The Power of Multi-track Communication
By Lynn Scarborough It’s everywhere! Media technology has invaded the world like a giant electronic nervous system. Computers, Ipod, televisions and radios generate and dump countless messages into our minds every day. With so much distraction in this media saturated world, how can we hope to be heard? Never before in history have there been more information, words, and images to stimulate, distract, amuse and confuse us. This communication transformation has impacted every dimension of our lives, yet the success in these critical areas still depends upon how we use our communication skills and tools.

From the Page to a Multi-Dimensional Experience: Tips for Adding Texture to Bible Videos.
By Lynn Scarborough When you hear the words – desert, Dead Sea, tents, and donkey – what biblical images, people, stories or truths are you reminded of? Previously, I shared how a trip to the Holy Land helped to morph familiar Bible stories into a 3-D experience. Being in Jordan deepened my understanding of bible in many ways, but what happens next? As teachers and media producers, the questions we must continually ask ourselves are: “How can we use our tools to draw others into the Bible so that their minds are renewed and their faith is expanded?” and “How can we craft images, sounds and text so that others can have a multi-dimensional experience that touches the soul and the spirit?” Here are some reflections from my trip that, hopefully, will help enrich your next video or media project:
